The REACH Project started at Texas A&M University in 2017. The founder, Max Gerall, hopes to bring this project to other college towns and work with those communities to leverage their resources to support the lower-income workers that support the university systems, such as janitors, food service workers, and lawn maintenance. They have numerous programs ranging from Health & Wellness and Continuing Education to Homeownership that are available to people in need in our community. They recently received a land donation and are in talks to build a high-quality, low-cost residential community that will include housing and community spaces as well. Max has passion around the work that he is doing and truly hopes that the programs The REACH Project develops change lives and give people the opportunity to escape the grip of multigenerational poverty.

The REACH Project’s new website makes it easy for visitors to learn more about the programs offered and how to get involved in their community. See the impact they are making with their Health & Wellness, Lifelong Learning, and Homeownership programs by clicking the tab options on their menu bar. Visit their media page to see the work they are currently doing in the community. The REACH Imperative is to strengthen the fabric of the community by engaging university and community partners to eliminate social and financial iniquities in college towns and beyond. If you’re interested in getting involved, check out their website!
